Our Universities, Labs & Facilities
Universidade Lusófona — Lisbon
Your CYBER journey starts here.
UniversidadeLusófona is the coordinating university of the CYBER consortium and hosts the first semester of the programme.
In Lisbon, you will build the foundations of CYBER and begin working across the HBB and EEB perspectives.
Lisbon also hosts the onboarding module and the preparatory summer school that open the programme.
The university brings together expertise in psychology, communication, technology and human–environment interaction, creating an interdisciplinary environment that fits the CYBER approach.
Research & innovation
The HEI-Lab — Human Environment Interaction Lab is particularly relevant to CYBER. The lab brings together psychology, information and computer sciences, media and communication to study interactions between people and their environments. The CYBER project itself is hosted within the HEI-Lab.
Labs & facilities
Students can access research and teaching infrastructures connected to areas such as:
- human–environment interaction;
- psychology and behavioural research;
- digital technologies;
- media and communication;
- health and wellbeing.
Semester 1: Lisbon
Universitat de Barcelona — Barcelona

A research-intensive environment for behaviour, cognition and technology.
The Universitat de Barcelona hosts CYBER students in the second and third semesters, with students moving between Barcelona and Paris according to their pathway.
Within CYBER, the UB is the consortium’s clinical hub, with expertise in e-therapy, virtual reality for mental health and cognitive neuroscience.
The Faculty of Psychology and the Institute of Neurosciences provide a strong environment for studying human behaviour, cognition, health and technology.
Research & innovation
The UB is home to several research groups working at the intersection of psychology and technology.
The VR-PSY Lab explores applications of virtual reality and new technologies in clinical and health psychology.
The EVENT Lab works at the interface between computer science, psychology and neuroscience, with a focus on virtual environments and human behaviour.
Labs & facilities
The UB Faculty of Psychology and Institute of Neurosciences include facilities such as:
- Virtual Reality laboratories;
- Social Interaction and Behaviour Laboratory;
- Cognitive Neuroscience laboratories;
- EEG and electrophysiology facilities;
- eye-tracking and neuroimaging equipment;
- movement and immersive technology facilities.
Semester 2: Barcelona — HBB
Semester 3: Barcelona
Université Paris Cité — Paris
Where human–technology interaction, ergonomics and data meet.
Université Paris Cité hosts CYBER students in the second and third semesters, according to their pathway.
The university brings expertise in cognitive ergonomics, human–computer interaction, neurophysiology and data analytics. EEB students study here in Semester 2, working on behavioural measurement, e-health data pipelines and ethics. HBB students join in Semester 3 to learn about teleconsultation, telepresence and user experience.
Research & innovation
The Institute of Psychology includes research teams working across psychology, cognition, neuroscience, ergonomics and applied computing.
Several CYBER faculty are members of Centre Borelli (UMR 9010), a CNRS joint research unit working across neurophysiology, mathematics and artificial intelligence.
Labs & facilities
The Paris campus offers access to facilities connected to:
- virtual and immersive reality;
- cognitive and behavioural research;
- neuroscience;
- psychological assessment;
- digital and technology-supported interventions.
Semester 2: Paris — EEB
Semester 3: Paris — HBB
From theory to experimentation
Depending on your courses and projects, you may work with technologies and methods such as virtual reality, immersive environments, behavioural observation, physiological measurements, eye tracking, EEG and other digital tools.
The exact facilities available to you will depend on your courses, projects and research activities.
Labs & Facilities
CYBER is not only about what you learn in the classroom.
Across the three universities, you will find laboratories and research facilities where psychology, neuroscience, technology, virtual reality and human behaviour come together.
